The Third Show & A New Project

8 June 2013

Fab explains why there is no third show coming to the network in the foreseeable future and he also talks about a new web site he has started instead

After trying, for the better part of this year, to launch a third show for Sixgun Productions, I have come to the conclusion that it just isn’t happening. Try as I might, I do not have the time and resources to start and maintain a third podcast for the network at the moment. I have a number of ideas for shows, but I can’t work the recording and editing times into my schedule these days. Not without completely sacrificing what little free time I have to spend with the woman I love who already very graciously accepts when I spent way too much time recording and editing podcasts while sharing the same, tiny living space.

For this reason, I am calling a moratorium on new shows while I concentrate on Linux Outlaws and Angels of Death and things like getting the LO back catalogue back online. And OggCamp, of course, that’s coming up too. As usual, I have a lot of stuff on my hands. This whole situation is also the reason while you haven’t seen much of me on YouTube lately, aside from the usual show recordings — well, in those cases where Google didn’t decide to fuck up the Hangout recording. I am afraid that state of affairs will continue as well. Things might possibly improve when I’ve moved to a bigger flat and do not have to inconvenience my partner each time I want to record a show, but that still seems to be a few months off at best. Anyway, I will keep you posted on the progress. If you want to know what this day job is that is keeping me this busy, you should read The H and keep an eye open for the initials (fab).

In the meantime, I have started a new site to chronicle my progress on the Warhammer 40K side of things: Angels Palatine. While I can’t really edit and record more shows at the moment, I should find the time to get a bit more writing in and I have for a while wanted a place besides Angels of Death where I can talk about these things and, more importantly, post pictures as well. There will probably be more painting and story telling related things on there than actual 40K tactics and battle reports, so even if you are not into the game (yet), check it out; who knows, you might like it. I have tried to explain the mission for the site in a first post.

And with that, I’m off — I have an event site to design. Have a nice weekend!

~ Fab

I appreciate what you do good sir. I’m interested in learning more about podcasting / maybe putting one of my own together one day. Do you have any tips on how to learn how to edit a podcast up? I’d like to think that it could be a useful service I could offer up one day.

Have you listened to Linux Outlaws 200?
