I know next to no Latin, but I think the Starfleet Academy motto works out to be “From the Stars, Knowledge”, which is pretty cool as charters go. If the my own country’s armed services were an only-nominally-military operation like StarFleet, I might’ve actually considered joining!

Oh, and a Heisenbug is a bug that appears and disappears, meaning that when you try to reproduce it, you often can’t, as if trying to observe the bug makes it disappear (hence the reference to the father of the eponymous Uncertainty Principle).

So, maybe they’re going to make it impossible for Fedora users to know both whether the operating system is on their computers AND how fast it’s running at the same time?

Super Meat Boy is featured in an interesting movie, Indie Game the Movie. It’s worth a watch.

On the topic of Linux Lifestyle, on their final LXF podcast I think Ben said it was a domain he’d had for some time and hadn’t used (I wonder why). If he’d hung around on the IRC he might have told you that himself.

And 90 grand may not be enough for a magazine but it’ll be one hell of a Christmas party.
