A content-packed episode of the show awaits you: Fab and Dave talk video games, entschleunigung and anime for more than two and a half hours.

Dave kicks things off with a report from FOSS Talk Live 2019. Fab couldn’t make it but says he’s planning to go to this year’s OggCamp. We than discuss the news that Larian is doing Baldur’s Gate III.

Naturally, we must also talk about Magic The Gathering, because it is the best game ever made. The new Core Set comes out this week!

Dave reviews a number of video games, namely Anno 1800, Islanders and Overcrowd: A Commute ‘Em Up.

In terms of entschleunigung, we discuss breadmaking and #vanlife holidays.

Dave also gushes about Neon Genesis Evangelion and we answer your feedback.

Dave and Fab sit down to talk about Destiny 2, drawing on the iPad, Dicey Dungeons and Brexit, of course.

Lots of interesting stuff is happening in our community. The Discord now has a servitor (thanks, Niklas!) and Fab has started a daily tech news podcastHe’s also a Twitch Affiliate now. And if Fab wasn’t busy enough, he’s started a Sunday column to round it all out – it’s German, though.

Aside from Star Trek Discovery coming back, there’s also a Michelle Yeoh spinoff in the works.

Fab reviews his 10.5″ iPad Pro and drawing on it with the Apple Pencil.

Dave has been playing Destiny 2 on the PC and explains why he likes it a lot. He also gives a quick review of Dicey Dungeons.

We have no feedback, as the previous episode hasn’t aired when we recorded this.

Merry Christmas and a happy Brexit, everyone! We wrap up 2018 in style and look forward to 2019 with a massive two and a half hours long show.

After immediately slipping into a Magic discussion with Dave, Fab recommends Springsteen on Broadway on Netflix to everyone because it made him cry. There’s also a great interview with Bruce in Esquire magazine.

Fab gives a quick overview of playing the Battlefleet Gothic: Armada II beta. It looks quite promising.

Games Workshop has started a video series called Angels of Death. Of course it can’t possibly compare to the original.

They’ve also started a 40K podcast and hey, it’s an actual podcast! Like, with an RSS feed! Wonders never cease…

We wrap up 2018 with a look back at the year and our podcasting. We also make some wild predictions for 2019, because history tells us that this must be done.

Mike

  • Death Company Primaris Marines will enter the lore
  • Another Primarch will surface: Russ, The Lion, Fulgrim or Lorgar
  • Primaris Marines will enter the meta as cost reductions have started with Vigilus and Chapter Approved
  • Hollywood execs decide that it is time to reboot the Avengers and make a new Mario Brothers movie
  • There will be a niche market for pre-apocalypse party sets or survival gear in the UK
  • Trump will be impeached or resign

Dave

  • Microsoft won’t buy Canonical in 2019
  • No Deal Brexit is coming
  • Leman Russ will return to 40K

Fab

  • Microsoft will buy Canonical in 2019
  • The only people in the EU who will even notice Brexit are those ordering from Games Workshop or Amazon UK
  • Magic Esports will be very successful and paper Magic tournaments will profit from it
  • Star Citizen won’t come out in 2019

We have no feedback this time as, again, the previous episode wasn’t released when we recorded this one.

On this instalment of GNR, Dave and Fab talk about Fallout 76 and discuss Magic: The Gathering for ages.

We are back from the brink with a fresh episode of Geek News Radio, massively long as always – mostly because we talk about Magic for over an hour.

Fab’s been annoying his neighbours with his boatswain’s call and Dave is back on Twitter. Fab’s also very excited about Springsteen on Broadway coming to Netflix.

Dave re-reviews Rise of Industry. It turns out he was wrong about it last time.

Fab reviews Fallout 76. Oh boy, it’s bad. You can also read his in-depth review on his blog: Parts IIIIII and IV.

Fab mentions Ivanpah Solar Power Facility.

We talk a lot about Magic: The Gathering which Fab recently got back into and also dragged Dave down with him. Mostly due to MTGA.

Cards mentioned:

We really like the Limited Resources podcast.

We end the show by talking about your feedback. People seemed to really like the return of Dan.

It’s been some time, but we are back. Fab and Dave talk Magic the Gathering, Rise of Industry and Linux kernel shenanigans. Fab also reviews Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

We’ve been away for a while, mostly because Fab was launching Hollywood Outlaws and because of that is currently rebuilding the Sixgun website. He’s also been really busy with work. Since he’s leaving soon for a holiday in the US, expect the episode draught to continue for a bit. We promise we’ll make up for the missed episodes at some point.

Our first topic this time is Doctor Strange, which Fab has finally seen. Dave reviewed it back on episode 27.

In the main part of the show, we discuss the code of conduct for the Linux kernel and Linus Torvalds’ sudden change of heart concerning sweary emails.

Dave revisits Two Point Hospital which he had mentioned on the show before. Fab, meanwhile, has been getting back into Magic the Gathering, because Dave told him about Magic the Gathering Arena. He’s now enjoying this quite a lot. If you’re interested in Magic or game design in general, Fab recommends the excellent Drive to Work podcast by Magic head designer Mark Rosewater, also known as Maro. He also gave a great lecture on game design at GDC 16.

We then have more games content, as Dave reviews Rise of Industry (which he didn’t like at all) and Fab reviews Shadow of the Tomb Raider which he loved. After we recorded the show, Fab also wrote a long review of the game on his blog.

We end the show by talking about your feedback.
