In a revival of the classic Sixgun show Angels of Death, we get Listener Number One Niklas on board and talk Warhammer for a whole episode.

This episode was recorded almost a month ago, but was much delayed due to Fab being very busy. We are continuing with our efforts to get the show back to a more regular schedule. Please hang in there for a while longer.

Anyway, back to the topics: This episode is all about the Warhams. First, Niklas explains how he got into the hobby. In fact, Dave and Fab were instrumental in pulling him back in.

Mike talks about the Black Library books he’s read since the last episode he was on.

Finally, Dave summarises all the Warhammer news that have been happening. Alas, by the time you hear this, none of this will be news to you. Blame Fab.

We also discuss the Everchosen painting competition, the new Lord of the Rings release, Warcry, the Repulsor Executioner tank, a new Machanicum transport and the magnificent Chaos Knight.

Fab wants to paint this bust of Bismarck.

We end the show with some feedback and introduce the Repository of the Sigillites – let us know what you think! Get in touch via Twitter, by joining the Sixgun Discord or by sending an email to feedback@sixgun.org. Thanks to Bytemark for graciously providing bandwith for this podcast.

Mike returns for an epic discussion of all things 40K-related, including those kids books.

In another entry of an episode we recorded ages ago and just released now, we bring you a special on Warhammer 40K and also our latest #4Feldherren update.

As part of this, Mike joins us once again from the dry wastes of Ireland to talk about all the things that have happened 40K-wise since he was on last. Of course, we also discuss the somewhat controversial 40K children’s books. Warning: Fab Rant incoming! We then reminisce about how we got into the hobby and speculate to where it will all lead.

To wrap up the show, we address your feedback, as is customary.

Show Notes

Before we disappear into the holidays, we deliver a massive episode with the best of what GNR has to offer: A hilarious Mozilla fuckup, a Star Citizen rant, a Star Wars review, our Games of the Year and some video game Warhammer.

As part of the site redesign, Fab has changed the Sixgun logo and GNR album art a bit. We hope you like the new look.

In the news:

Mozilla made a lot of people really angry with a Firefox / Mr. Robot publicity stunt.

Crytek is suing Star Citizen over the CryEngine.

Fab won the #4Feldherren Turtle Race. Joe still has a huge box of shame.

Fab got an iPhone 7 as a replacement for his dead Nexus 5X. Dave reviews Star Wars: The Last Jedi. He liked it, but you probably already guessed that. Fab still can’t be bothered.

We discuss our Game of the Year. Dave’s runner-ups are: 5. Deep Sea Adventure, 4. Divinity: Original Sin II, 3. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and 2. XCOM 2: War of the Chosen. Fab’s runner-ups are: 5. Prey, 4. The Signal from Tölva, 3. Heat Signature and 2. Divinity: Original Sin II.

Dave’s winner is Warhammer 40.000 8th Edition.

Fab’s winner is Total War: Warhammer II.

Fab reviews his game of the year: Total War: Warhammer II. He really, really likes it.

We revisit our predictions for 2017 from the beginning of this year. We’ll give fresh predictions for 2018 in the first episode of the new year. This episode was long as it is at this point.

For the last time in 2017, we address your feedback. Including a weird discussion of playing card suits. We will be back in January of 2018. Until then, have a merry Christmas and a bloody good party to ring in the new year!

Show Notes

Fab and Dave celebrate GNR’s second birthday, bring you the relevant geek news and talk Warhammer 40K and Elite Dangerous.

We start the show with some geek news:

EA’s stock price is fucked because of loot boxes.

Top NSA hackers are as stupid as the next person some times.

  Hutton Orbital claims another victim.

  Linux Journal closes its doors.

  Django 2.0 is out!

Geek News Radio is now two years old! Fab’s been reflecting on it in a post on the new Sixgun blog.

Dave has has invented Warhammermas and went on a trip to Warhammer World. He tells us how much fun that was. The bastard.

In the meantime, Fab’s been laughing at this hilarious Rainbox Six thread on Reddit.

Fab had a week off and started a deep space exploration mission in Elite Dangerous.

In other news, Joakim wants to go cuddle with the polar bears. Help him out!

Dave’s been emo about Netrunner and Star Citizen is now selling virtual land that doesn’t exist.

We end the show by talking about your feedback. Thank you for the nice words in response to Fab’s blog post.

Show Notes

Join Dave, Mike, Joe and Fab on an episode full of Warhammer painting. Well, when we say painting, we mean we’re mostly talking about painting instead of actually doing it.

Fab, Dave, Mike and Joe come together to discuss their progress, or rather the lack of such, on their Warhammer 40K painting challenge #4Feldherren. While Dave’s actually been painting, he’s mostly added additional stuff to his commitment. Joe has been painting a lot, but none of it has been for the challenge. Fab and Mike have both progressed tiny amounts.

Joe:

Mike:

Dave:

Fab:

The lads also discuss the return of Necromunda and the new Star Wars miniatures game from Fantasy Flight Games.

We also talk about Ring Raiders for some bizarre reason that really isn’t apparent afterwards. Looks like the Luftwaffe are also fans.

Did Fab mention that he met Sabaton? Oh yeah, and he also bought the tank.

We end the show with your feedback. We have some catching up to do, since we weren’t able to include a feedback section last time. We also did it in record time, because Joe had to go to bed.
