In this episode, we catch up with the news in the geek world. That includes Amazon’s Dash Buttons, EVE Online going free-to-play, aliens and other space news.
We’ve been playing Elite Dangerous, which is clearly the best space game. Do you play? Why not join the Ghost Division? Oh well, if you’d rather wait for Star Citizen and Squadron 42…it has been delayed. Of course it has.
Breaking news: Apparently Trump can’t be stopped now. In more positive news, Dawn of War III has been announced and we are feeling the hype.
Dave regales us with his latest adventures in EVE Online. He’s been building a citadel and has bought a Caracal. We also talk about the Rokh and the Jackdaw. After all the EVE love, Dave gives his impressions on Captain America: Civil War, which he found to be rather meh.
FOSS Talk Live is sold out but we want you to come anyway.
Fab talks about the Panama Papers and the TTIP leak and what he thinks is wrong with all of it. We also debate the curious case of Craig Wright and why his claims of being Satoshi Nakamoto are probably bullshit. Fab then goes completely fanboy about Stellaris, which he only found out about recently. You should read their developer diaries.
Fab revamped his website and started a new blog. He also talks a bit about digging into WhatsApp’s end-to-end encryption. Meanwhile, all of Isernhagen is in lockdown for #HannObama.
It’s the new year and we are back! In this episode, Fab and Dave talk about The Expanse, the death of Ian Murdock and Dave reviews his OnePlus X. Also: rants.
Dave tells us about Star Wars and why battle meditation is important. He then reviews the OnePlus X, which you have to have an invite to buy, apparently. Le sigh. They also talked about this on Buggered Impedance.
Dave now likes Fallout 4 more, since he rolled a new character who kills everyone and wears no pants. Dave recommends the anime One Punch Man and also the EVE: Valkyrie comics.
At the end of the show, we answer your questions and read out your feedback. If you are in California at the end of January and are a Linux nut, you might want to go to the SCALE conference in Pasadena.

Show Notes
We wish you a happy holiday and deliver to you the third GNR which is also the last episode of 2015. The show should be back on the air at the beginning of January, if everything goes according to plan. In this episode, we talk more about The Expanse, about M.C. Escher, Elite Dangerous: Horizons and about Mozilla’s plans, or lack thereof, for both Firefox OS and Thunderbird. We are not in much of a Christmas mood but we’re trying to fix that with alcohol. To that end, Fab’s having König Pilsener and Dave’s drinking Cats Whiskers.
Meanwhile in EVE, Mordu’s Legion has declared war on the Serpentis mercenaries.
Still on a massive Expanse bender, Fab talks about the books this time. He’s in the middle of Leviathan Wakesand boy is it a story and a half. It’s an amazing feat of world building and we talk about some of the things that make it special.
